Manuel’s AI-Transformation
My AI transformation began about six to seven years ago with my first training in the field of AI. That was when I started diving deep into deep learning, developing my own models, particularly in the area of generative AI for text and images. My first AI project ultimately failed due to data quality issues, but it became the foundation for my book *"AI Revolution: Pioneers at the Crossroads of Future Technology – How to Not Fuck Up an AI,"* where I detail this development process. With my background as a web developer and e-commerce specialist, I was always looking for ways to integrate AI into online shopping. The breakthrough of ChatGPT was a game-changer—finally, AI became accessible and usable for the masses. This led to my role as the first AI consultant at Shopware, where I supported customers and partners in AI innovation. Today, I work as an independent consultant and trainer, actively developing an AI platform while helping companies integrate AI into their processes. The greatest opportunities lie in AI’s massive efficiency potential—provided we are willing to set aside our egos and delegate tasks to AI. It enables us to do things that were previously out of reach. The biggest challenge is the rapid pace of development. My ADHD turns out to be an advantage here—it allows me to quickly process and filter large amounts of new information. My work approach has fundamentally changed. Today, I collaborate with a “team” of AI agents that generate about 80% of the code, while I focus on precise preparation and quality control. This AI symbiosis shapes not only my daily work but my entire perspective—I view every task through an "AI lens" and look for optimization potential while keeping the human element in mind. As a VDW expert, I bring my expertise in advanced AI implementation and automation. I can teach developers how to use AI effectively in a short time and help companies boost efficiency and streamline processes. My mission is to push back against the “developer extinction” crisis by helping teams embrace AI as a tool for innovation and growth. The AI revolution is in full swing, and I’m proud to be part of the VDW team, combining my technical expertise with the vision of Katha and Chris.
